The Story of 21CNCStudio

Hello! I’m Volodymyr Papush, the engineer and creative mind behind 21CNCStudio. Currently based in Bury St Edmunds, UK, I spend my days designing intricate laser-cut models and exploring the frontiers of 3D printing.

But my journey didn’t start here, and it didn’t start with digital files.

Before 2022, my life was in Mariupol, Ukraine. I was a self-taught maker with my own workshop, specializing in exclusive furniture and home décor. I loved the smell of sawdust and the precision of my large CNC machine. Creating physical objects from raw wood was my passion.

Then, the war changed everything. I was forced to leave my home, my city, and my beloved workshop behind.

Starting Over with a Diode Laser

Arriving in the UK, I had to build a new life from scratch. The desire to create never left me, but I no longer had access to heavy industrial machinery. I decided to buy a small Creality Falcon diode laser to keep my hands busy.

I started as many hobbyists do—downloading ready-made files from the internet. And that’s where the frustration began. Nothing fit. Joints were loose, dimensions were off, and I spent more time “fixing” files with a file and sandpaper than actually creating.

The engineer in me couldn't accept that.

I realized that with my background in 3D modeling and CNC machining, I could do better. I started designing my own files from the ground up—files that actually worked. Precise, tested, and ready to cut.

The Birth of 21CNCStudio

That frustration turned into a business. I launched 21CNCStudio on Etsy to share my “perfect fit” designs with others who were tired of bad files.
